MEET YOUR DOCTORS
Saeed Behbahani, MD
Saeed received his M.D. from the Shiraz Medical School in Iran, subsequently completing residencies in both pediatrics and radiology and earning a Fellowship in ultrasonagraphy.

Known as the "city of poets, wine and flowers," Shiraz - after which the wine grape is named - is famous as the home of the Persepolis. Saeed left Iran in 1995 to move to Chicago, then to Scottsdale. In 1998 he did his residency at the Maricopa Medical Center, graduating in 2001 and taking his Board in internal medicine. He completed a Fellowship in geriatric medicine at Sun Health/St. Joseph's in 2002, and started a Skilled Nursing facility. In 2002, Saeed also joined the Maricopa Integrated Health Service as a Teacher Attending, a position he held until coming to MyDoctor in early 2009.

Saeed jokes that as a pediatrician, internist and geriatrician he covers the gamut of life. He likes the MyDoctor one-to-one patient-doctor approach that allows both parties to get to know each other. Here, he says, "patients can easily access their doctors. They don't have to explain the same thing over and over to different doctors, and we have good control over our practice. It makes it easier to pick up atypical presentations of a disease."

Saeed lives with his wife, a pharmacist, in Scottsdale, where he enjoys biking, swimming, hiking in the close-by nature and world politics.
Shruti Chaurasia, MD
Shruti received her MBBS from King George's Medical College in Lucknow, India. She completed her residency at Banner Good Samaritan in Phoenix, Arizona.

Shruti has spent the last thirteen years in the US, living in New York and Arizona. The freedom, opportunities, and dedication of spirit she found here forged in her a passion to give back. With her husband and MyDoctor founder, Vishal, Shruti has put that passion to work. The MyDoctor commitment to developing a close relationship between physicians and patients "allows me to be there for my patients when they need me most," says Shruti. She cites the practice of visiting patients in ER as just one example of this commitment to personalized care.

Shruti, a loving mother and natural people-person, is also a lover of music and singing. She lives with her husband, Vishal, and their two children, Vishrut and Sharbi, in Scottsdale.
Richard Ernst, MD
Born in Germany but raised in Mexico City, Richard attended medical school at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He performed his Family Practice Residency in Puerto Rico

In 1996 Richard began work for Doctors Without Borders, stationed with French colleagues in Sri Lanka. An inveterate traveler and speaker of several languages, Richard has also worked in Mexico, Thailand and Malawi, treating everything from snakebites to cholera outbreaks. A lifetime of travel has taught Richard the importance of patient communication in understanding people, an ethos he applies to his work. "Give people time and they will open up," he says. "You need to listen to them with different ears."

In addition to travel, Richard enjoys playing the piano and competing in triathlons. He attends the Self realization fellowship, a center for meditation and well-being. He lives with his wife, Shirley, and daughter, Daniella.
Jodi Novak, DO
Jodi received her degree in Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University in 1999, achieving a childhood dream. She completed her residency at County Hospital in Phoenix.

Medicine was an early calling for Jodi. As child she could be found treating her sister's bee stings or removing stitches from the family cat. This early passion for the challenges of medicine and the satisfaction of patient care led Jodi to her job with MyDoctor. "I like to feel like I'm making a difference in people's lives," says Jodi.

An amateur photographer and piano player, Jodi also enjoys hikes with her Pomeranian, Romeo. Following his owner's interest in medicine, Romeo can also be found at the Hospice of the Valley, where he works as a pet therapist. Jodi lives with Romeo and her two cats in Scottsdale.
Karla Puente, MD
Karla, a native of Tijuana, Mexico, graduated from the University of Baja, California, before completing her Post Grad and Residency in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

With a chemist mother and a physician father it's little wonder that Karla gravitated toward biology at an early age. It was this early enthusiasm that led her to medicine. So what led her to My Doctor? "We have time to listen," says Karla. "And listening alone gets you to the bottom of 90 percent of your problems." Karla likes to put an emphasis on preventive medicine and the necessity of getting to know a patient. "I want my patients to think of me as a friend or neighbor who also happens to be a physician."

A travel buff, sky-diver, and music enthusiast, Karla can be found listening to everything from classical music to hard rock. She lives in Scottsdale with her husband, Stephen, and two young children, Eric and Nick.
Amar Sharma, MD
Amar received his M.D. from the Guru Govind singh Govt. Medical College in Punjab, India. He completed two residencies, at the Rajendra Hospital in India and Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix.

Providing volunteer health services in the rural and suburban areas of Punjab, Amar was awarded for excellent work in polio eradication and AIDS awareness program. From 1994 to 2002, he worked as a pediatrician in the Chandigarhh Children and General Hospital. Amar moved to Scottsdale in 2002, choosing the valley because his in-laws live here and the hot weather is the same as in Punjab. After his residency, he worked as a hospitalist at Scottsdale Health Care, where me met Vishal and was impressed and the quality care he provided, "treating people like human beings". He joined MyDoctor in 2008.

Amar's entire family works in the health field: his wife and daughter - Manju and Anamika - are both nurses, while his son, Arun, is a Nursing Aid with the Reserve Guard. Amar enjoys swimming, exercise and helping his wife and children with their studies. "Internal medicine is life-long learning," he says. "I like to keep up."

Vishal Chaurasia, MD and Founding Partner of MyDoctor
A man of great education, compassion, and a drive to continually improve patient care, Vishal was the pioneer spirit behind MyDoctor's personalized health care. He received his MBBS from the acclaimed All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi, India, going on to become the youngest graduated resident of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NY. In 2003, the Consumer Research Council of America voted Vishal one of the country's top physicians. Vishal's belief in treating patients like family and spending quality time with them is the cornerstone of the My Doctor philosophy - a commitment not just to curing disease but to improving quality of life.

Vishal passed on in 2009, but his spirit lives on in the continual quest of MyDoctor to provide attentive personal care and improved lives to our patients and friends.
